Description
This wooden mallard drake duck decoy is a hand-painted example from Hornick Bros Stoney Point Decoys of Oak Hall, Virginia. The underside is branded with the manufacturer name and location and features the handwritten signature of Raymond E. Hornick dated 1976. The decoy is constructed of wood with original polychrome decoration, featuring a green head, red eyes, and a yellow bill with black detailing. The body includes a white neck ring, a reddish-brown breast, and intricate feather painting in shades of brown, gray, and black. A ruler in the provided images indicates the decoy measures approximately 14 inches in length.
