Lot 108:
Description
A traditional four-poster queen-sized bed frame constructed from dark-stained hardwood with a mahogany finish. The headboard features a high, scrolling broken-pediment design with an arched top and a central carved flame-style finial. The frame is supported by four tall, slender turned and tapered posts, each topped with a matching urn-and-flame finial. The footboard consists of a low-profile rail. The interior of the frame is fitted with a set of modern light-colored wood slats and includes a central longitudinal support rail. The design incorporates elements of Federal and Chippendale revival styles. No maker marks or labels are present on the visible portions of the frame.
Condition report:
The bed is in good overall condition. The finish remains rich and consistent throughout. Visible wear includes minor surface scuffs, light nicks, and small scratches consistent with standard household use. The modern slats and central support are in good, functional condition. Note that the light-colored marks visible on the floor in photographs are on the flooring surface and are not damage to the bed.
