Description
A contemporary theorem painting executed on a light-colored fabric support by Pennsylvania artist Barbara Updegrove. The composition features a central snowman with a carrot nose, coal features, and a blue scarf. The snowman’s stick-like arms are decorated with hanging yellow stars. Several red birds, resembling cardinals, are depicted perched on the snowman and feeding on the snowy ground. A sack in the foreground is inscribed BIRD SEED, and a brown picket fence borders the scene. The work is signed BUpdegrove in the lower right corner. The verso is finished with a floral-patterned backing paper and retains a studio label for Theorem Painting, Barbara Updegrove, 2304 Princeton Ave., Sanatoga, PA 19464. The painting is housed in a wide, flat wooden frame with a warm mottled grain finish and includes a sawtooth hanger.

Condition report:
The painting and frame are in excellent original condition. The fabric support is clean with no visible staining, fading, or material loss. The frame is structurally sound and free of significant nicks or scratches. The backing paper and label are intact.
