Description
A rectangular, handcrafted wooden box featuring a dark, straight-grained wood body with a reddish tone. The hinged lid is constructed with mitered corners and decorative wood splines, inset with a rectangular panel of spalted maple displaying characteristic dark, irregular lines. A small, curved handle made of dark, figured wood is fixed to the front edge of the lid. The interior is lined with a dark reddish-brown velvet-textured fabric and includes a brass-toned metal lid stay. The underside consists of a light-colored wood panel with four circular dark grey felt pads at the corners. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the object.

Condition report:
The box is in good condition with minor surface marks consistent with age and use. The interior fabric lining shows small blemishes and signs of light wear. The underside exhibits residue and wear to the felt pads at the corners.
