Description
A group of three metal garden plant supports consisting of two tall obelisks and one smaller plant support. The pair of tall trellises features a square-base pyramidal form constructed from welded metal rods, tapering to a domed top surmounted by a flame-shaped finial. The interior of the frames is decorated with winding metal wire vines and small stylized bird figures attached at various intervals. The tall trellises are finished in a light cream-colored paint. The third item is a smaller plant support with a circular base and curved vertical ribs that converge at a central point, topped with a spherical finial. This smaller piece has a uniform dark rusted finish. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on any of the three items.
Condition report:
The items show significant signs of weathering consistent with outdoor use. The two tall cream-colored obelisks exhibit widespread chipping and loss of the painted finish, with visible surface oxidation and rust where the paint has failed, particularly at the welded joints, along the decorative wire vines, and on the finials (photo 1). The lower portions of the legs on the tall obelisks show heavy surface rust (photo 1). The smaller plant support has a uniform coating of surface oxidation across the entire frame and finial (photo 1). The structures remain stable and sound despite the surface wear.
