Lot 33:
Description
This 1972 US Uncirculated Mint Set consists of two original cellophane-sealed packs containing a total of 11 coins and one Bureau of the Mint identification token. The set features uncirculated examples of each denomination produced for circulation that year, including two Kennedy half dollars, two Washington quarters, two Roosevelt dimes, two Jefferson nickels, and three Lincoln Memorial cents. The Denver Mint coins, which bear the D mint mark on the obverse, are housed in a red-bordered plastic sleeve alongside a white plastic token with red lettering that reads BUREAU OF THE MINT and UNCIRCULATED MINT SET. The Philadelphia Mint coins, which bear no mint mark, are contained in a blue-bordered plastic sleeve; this specific 1972 set includes an additional Lincoln cent in the sixth slot of the blue pack. The coins are struck in copper-nickel clad and bronze. The lot is accompanied by the original cream-colored Department of the Treasury mailing envelope from the United States Assay Office in New York, which features the printed designation 1972-U.C. in the lower-left corner.
Condition report:
The coins are in as-issued uncirculated condition, maintaining original mint luster and sharp strikes. The cellophane packaging remains original and sealed. The mailing envelope shows minor shelf wear and light toning consistent with age.
