Description
This US silver dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1880. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. It features the Morgan design type. The obverse includes the date 1880 and the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM. The reverse lacks a mint mark above the denomination, confirming its origin at the Philadelphia Mint. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, In God we trust, and ONE DOLLAR. The 1880 Philadelphia mintage consisted of 12,600,000 strikes.
Condition report:
The coin is in uncirculated condition and retains much of its original mint luster. Both surfaces show numerous contact marks and abrasions. Small dark spots of toning or oxidation are visible on the reverse near the eagle\'s right wing and the bottom center of the wreath.
