Description
A rectangular medical doctor’s ampule case featuring a black pebbled leather or faux-leather exterior. The lid is gold-embossed with the name K. L. CARTER, M.D. The case opens to a two-tiered interior lined with blue velvet, designed with individual slots to secure glass medication containers. The case contains an assortment of glass ampules with various printed labels. Identifiable contents include Valium 10 (diazepam) in a 2-ml size and Lanoxin Injection (0.25 mg per cc) marked for Wellcome & Co., which is labeled as Poison. Other ampules feature partial labels, including one for Sulfate also marked Poison. The interior construction includes a hinged divider to access the lower tier.
Condition report:
The exterior shows visible wear, including scuffing and loss of finish along the edges and corners. The interior velvet lining shows dust and signs of age. The glass ampules remain intact, though the paper labels exhibit discoloration, staining, and partial loss of text.
