Description
This lot features two cast brass decorative objects. The first item is a brass kettle designed in the style of the Aesthetic Movement, featuring a bulbous form. The lower body is decorated with three cast floral rosettes, while the upper section displays a register of vertical geometric panels. It is constructed with a fixed, arched overhead handle and a wide, angular triangular spout. The fitted lid has radial ribbing and is topped with a textured bud-shaped finial. The second item is a heavy cast brass ornament in the shape of a Victorian lady’s high-top button-up boot. The piece is detailed with a flared, scalloped collar, a side-fastening placket with a row of decorative buttons, and a tapered high heel. The interior of the boot is hollow. Condition report:
Both items are in good vintage condition showing a natural aged patina. The kettle displays consistent surface tarnish and minor spots of oxidation. The boot ornament has a polished finish with minor surface wear, small casting pits, and scattered tarnish consistent with age.
