Description
This is an intricate beaded choker-style collar necklace, attributed to the Maasai culture of East Africa or the Zulu Culture of Southern Africa based on its traditional geometric patterns and construction. The necklace is composed of woven glass seed beads. The decorative motifs include nested chevrons in red and green, diamond shapes in orange and black, and vertical stripes in yellow, lime green, and red. The band is structured with vertical spacer bars, and features light blue beaded vertical dividers between the primary pattern blocks. The piece is secured at the back with thin, dark thread ties. It is accompanied by a handwritten paper tag that reads African Engagement Necklace.Length: Choker length, approximately 12 to 14 inches including ties.
