Description
This collection consists of several hand-carved and hand-painted wooden folk art figurines and decorative objects. Included are two house-shaped blocks, both signed on the underside Linda S. Elliott 1983. A figurine depicting a whimsical man seated on a brick plinth with a bird on his head is marked D.H. PETERSEN 1995 on the base. The group further contains various bird and duck carvings, including a large duck decoy with an incised monogram on the base appearing to be LH or JH, a smaller duck decoy, a red bird on a pedestal, and two anthropomorphic goose figures in red and white attire. Additional pieces include a stylized carved cat with green eyes, a polychrome fish, and a pull toy featuring a figure and a cow on a wooden base. The items are crafted from wood and decorated with polychrome pigments.
Condition report:
Overall condition is good. The pieces show minor surface wear, including light scuffs and minor paint loss consistent with age. There is an aged patina across the surfaces. No significant structural damage or repairs are noted.
