Description
This lot consists of two wooden walking sticks featuring hand-carved and hand-painted handles in a folk art style. The first cane features a light-colored wooden shaft and a handle carved into the bust of a bald, elderly man with a stooped posture wearing a gray garment. The second, taller cane features a darker, grained wooden shaft and a handle depicting a man with a mustache and gray hair wearing a red collared shirt. Both canes are fitted with rubber ferrules at the tip of the shaft. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible.
Length of shorter cane: 37 inches
Length of taller cane: 41.5 inches.
Condition report:
Both items appear in good condition with minor surface wear and scuffs consistent with age and use. There are small areas of paint loss on the carved handles.
