Description

This lot features a diverse collection of assorted flatware and specialized serving pieces constructed from silver-plated metal, stainless steel, and mixed materials. A primary highlight of the collection is a commemorative spoon presented in its original box, labeled The General de Rochambeau Spoon. The handle of this spoon is engraved with the text: Rochambeau To His Gen. Henry Knox 1780.

The serving utensils include three ladles of varying sizes, one of which features a side-pouring spout; a pair of sugar tongs; a large metal utility scoop; a pie or cake server; a long-handled tool with a bell-shaped terminal; and a butter knife with a curved white ceramic handle decorated with a blue floral motif.

The flatware comprises an array of spoons, knives, and forks in multiple patterns. This includes dinner knives with ornate silver-plated handles, two steak knives with wooden handles, and several tablespoons and teaspoons. Visible markings include W. ROGERS & SON IS on a spoon handle, indicating silver-plate produced by International Silver. One knife blade is marked STAINLESS STEEL MADE IN JAPAN, and another is marked C-STAINLESS STEEL. A small fork is marked B R I C on the reverse of the handle. The items are shown on a cutting mat with a one-inch grid for scale.

Condition report:

The items are in varied condition. Several silver-plated serving pieces, most notably the ladles and the large scoop, exhibit heavy tarnish. General surface wear, including light scratches, minor scuffing, and signs of moderate use, is present throughout the collection. The boxed commemorative spoon and its original packaging appear well-preserved with minimal wear.
