Description
A collection of twenty-two US 90% silver dimes. The group includes Mercury (Winged Liberty Head) dimes, Roosevelt dimes, and one coin featuring a reverse wreath design characteristic of the Barber or Seated Liberty series. Visible dates for the Roosevelt series include 1947, 1954, 1956, 1957, 1962, and 1964. Visible dates for the Mercury series include 1926, 1942, and 1945. Mint marks are identifiable on some reverses, including D for the Denver Mint. Obverse designs feature the Mercury (Winged Liberty Head) and Roosevelt types. Reverse designs include the fasces with olive branch and the torch between olive and oak branches. All coins are inscribed with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DIME, and E PLURIBUS UNUM. US dimes minted in 1964 and earlier contain 90 percent silver, after which the composition was changed to a copper-nickel clad.
Condition report:
The coins are in circulated condition, exhibiting varying degrees of wear, surface marks, and toning. Wear patterns are consistent with the fine to very fine range. Some coins retain muted original luster.
