Description
This 1881 US Morgan silver dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper with a 0.900 fineness. The obverse features the Liberty Head design and the reverse displays the Eagle with Wings Spread design. No mint mark is present on the reverse below the wreath. With a mintage of 9,163,000, the 1881 Philadelphia issue is a common date within the Morgan dollar series.
Condition report:
Very Good. The coin shows significant signs of circulation and wear, with heavy flattening of the fine details in Liberty\'s hair and the eagle\'s breast feathers. The surfaces exhibit numerous small scratches, contact marks, and a dull gray patina. No mint luster remains.
