Description
Late Victorian style armchair constructed from dark-stained hardwood. The chair features a decorative back with a carved crest rail containing a heart-shaped cutout, positioned above a central pierced splat with scrolling details. The circular seat is inset with hand-woven cane. The structure is supported by turned front legs and slightly splayed back legs, unified by an H-stretcher with bobbin and spindle turning details. The curved armrests are supported by turned posts.
Height: 37 inches
Seat Height: 17.5 to 18 inches.
Condition report:
The chair is in good antique condition. There is minor surface wear and scuffing to the finish, particularly on the legs and feet, consistent with age and use. The woven cane seat is intact and in good repair.
