Description
A pair of hand-woven splint baskets featuring ribbed melon or egg basket construction. The baskets are crafted from natural materials, including split wood splints, likely oak or ash, with gnarled vine handles secured by decorative woven lashings at the rims. One basket exhibits an open, spaced weave reinforced with cordage, while the other features a tighter, traditional weave pattern. Both pieces exhibit a warm, aged patina. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are present.
