Description
This vintage ladies manual wind wristwatch was manufactured by Gruen. The watch features a silver-tone metal case with a bezel and lugs decorated with ornate chased floral and geometric scrollwork. The yellow-toned dial displays an engraved central floral pattern, black Arabic numeral hour markers, and a sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The dial is marked GRUEN below the 12 o’clock position. The watch is attached to an articulated silver-tone link bracelet with a clasp marked HADLEY QUALITY and PAT. PEND. Included is the original Gruen presentation box, which has a brown textured exterior and a yellow satin-lined interior featuring the Gruen crest and a metal tag marked GRUEN CINCINNATI.
Case size: 24mm lug-to-lug and 20mm wide excluding the crown.
Condition report:
The watch is in used vintage condition. The silver-tone case back shows significant surface scratching and wear to the finish. The dial exhibits age-related patina and discoloration. The crystal is heavily yellowed, which is typical for aged celluloid or early plastics. The movement is manual wind and has not been tested for functionality or timekeeping accuracy. The original presentation box shows wear and age-related deterioration to both the interior and exterior.
