Description
A collection of three vintage toy vehicle sets from the annual holiday series produced for the Amerada Hess Corporation. The group includes the 1988 Hess Toy Truck and Racer, the 1993 Hess Patrol Car, and the 2004 Hess Sport Utility Vehicle and Motorcycles. Each vehicle is constructed of molded white and green plastic with chrome-finished accents and rubber tires. The 1988 set features a tractor-trailer designed to carry a small friction-powered race car; the box is marked Made in Hong Kong and features a depicted license plate reading HESS 1988. The 1993 set consists of a police cruiser with integrated light and sound functions; the box is marked Copyright 1993, Made in China, and features a depicted license plate reading HESS 1993. The 2004 set includes a sport utility vehicle with working lights and two motorcycles equipped with friction motors and lights; the box is marked Copyright 2004, Made in China, and features a depicted license plate reading HESS 2004. All boxes identify the manufacturer as Amerada Hess Corporation of Woodbridge, New Jersey.
Condition report:
The vehicles remain in their original illustrated cardboard packaging. The boxes show signs of light shelf wear, including minor rubbing at the corners and light creasing. A small tear is visible on the lower right front corner of the 1993 Patrol Car box. The items have not been removed from the packaging for internal inspection or testing. Functional features, including battery-operated lights, sirens, and friction motors, are not guaranteed.
