Description

A pair of stone decorative items consisting of a naturalistic carving of two fish and a natural rounded stone. The carving features two fish, likely salmon or Arctic char, positioned one slightly behind and above the other. The figures are rendered with detailed incised scales, dorsal fins, and tails. The carving is composed of a dense black stone with a matte to semi-gloss finish, consistent with soapstone or argillite. The second item is a smooth, water-worn, rounded stone with a natural mottled black and white pattern, possibly marble or granite. Neither item displays visible maker marks, signatures, or labels.

Fish Carving: 5.5 inches in length
Mottled Stone: 3.25 inches in length.

Condition report:

Both items are in good condition. The fish carving retains sharp detail with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The mottled stone exhibits a natural, smooth surface with no significant damage or signs of wear.
