Description
A contemporary American folk art redware plate by potter Charles W. Terry (C.W. Terry). The circular shallow earthenware plate features a coggled or crimped rim. The interior is decorated with a central red slip heart motif surrounded by a deep blue field with mottled iron-red sponging. The reverse is unglazed, showing the natural terracotta-colored clay body. The underside is incised with the signature C. W. Terry and dated P – 1985 with a small cross symbol. The center contains an impressed maker mark featuring a stylized tulip under an arched banner.

Condition report:
The plate is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The surface shows minor glaze irregularities and firing marks characteristic of handmade pottery.
