Description
This lot features two vintage tennis racquets, including a metal signature model and a wooden youth model. The first racquet is a Butch Buchholz signature model constructed with a chrome-finished tubular metal frame and a specialized wire stringing system. This racquet includes a white vinyl head cover featuring a black printed Butch Buchholz signature. The shaft is fitted with a black plastic label bearing the Butch Buchholz name in white script and a black textured grip. The second racquet is a Wilson Pro Staff youth model made of laminated wood. The throat is painted white and displays the Wilson brand name in black script, GLM 24 and YOUTH in orange, and PRO STAFF in large orange block lettering. A white plastic collar above the grip features the Wilson W logo. The racquet is finished with a brown leather grip.
Condition report:
The metal racquet frame shows light surface oxidation and minor scratching consistent with age. The white vinyl head cover exhibits yellowing and scattered small dark stains. The black grip shows signs of moderate use and edge wear. Strings are intact but aged. The wooden racquet frame shows minor surface scuffs and small nicks along the outer edges from play. The leather grip shows typical wear and darkening from handling. Strings are intact and appear to be in good condition.
