Description
This set of seven glazed earthenware pieces consists of four square-footed bowls and three round plates featuring coordinated fruit motifs. The four square bowls are from the Tabletops Unlimited Sorbet collection and are decorated with hand-painted images of cherries, pears, and grapes against a white ground, finished with a green-painted rim. The three plates are from The Zrike Company and include one large dinner plate and two smaller salad or dessert plates. These plates feature hand-painted strawberries, pears, and grapes set against a yellow-washed ground.
The base of each bowl features a black transfer mark with a stylized bowl icon and the word Sorbet. Additional text includes hand painted collection, TABLETOPS UNLIMITED, MADE IN CHINA, and DISHWASHER SAFE. The base of each plate bears a black transfer mark reading ZRIKE with a trademark symbol, followed by the text The Zrike Company, Inc. and HAND PAINTED.
Square Bowls: 4.5 inches square x 2.5 inches high
Large Plate: 10.75 inches in diameter
Smaller Plates: 8.25 inches in diameter.
Condition report:
All pieces are in good used condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs. There is minor shelf wear present on the unglazed foot rings of the bases. The hand-painted rims and motifs exhibit characteristic variations in glaze thickness and application inherent to the manufacturing process.
