Description
A hand-carved and painted wooden duck decoy representing a Red-breasted Merganser drake, created by Maryland carver Patrick Vincenti. The decoy features a dark green head with a prominent spiky double crest, a red eye, and a long, tapered red bill with a black tip. The body is painted with a stippled reddish-brown breast, transitionary white collar, and gray, white, and black plumage on the back and wings. The underside is finished in white paint and includes a rectangular lead weight secured with screws and a circular metal tie-down ring. The base is signed in black ink Patrick Vincenti and dated 1986.
Length: 17 inches.
Condition report:
The decoy is in very good condition. There is a minor paint scuff at the tip of the tail and a small split or natural wood imperfection at the base of the head crest. The paint remains vibrant with minimal wear.
