Description
Hand-painted folk art fish spearing decoy by Raymond W. Land (RWLand), modeled after a banded darter. The object features a carved wood body with a light green base color, decorated with a lateral series of red and green concentric circle patterns. The decoy is constructed with six inserted metal fins, including two dorsal fins, a tail fin, an anal fin, and two pectoral fins. The lead dorsal fin contains two bored holes intended for line attachment. The fins are detailed with red and green linear accents. The head features black and white painted eye details and black markings. The underside of the belly is signed in black marker RWLand ’07.
Length: 5.5 inches.
Condition report:
The decoy is in good condition. All metal fins are present and secure. The painted surface shows minor scuffs and light wear consistent with age.
