Description
A carved and painted wooden duck decoy depicting a Northern Pintail drake, produced by Bodt Decoys. The piece features a brown head with a characteristic white stripe extending upward from the neck, a blue and black painted bill, and a gray body with simple painted feather details across the back. The tail is rendered in black and white. The underside is equipped with a lead strap weight and a metal tie-off ring. The base of the decoy is impressed with two stamps reading BODT. The construction and paint style are consistent with the traditional decoys of the Chesapeake Bay region.

Condition report:
The decoy is in good condition with signs of age and handling. Visible wear includes minor paint scuffs, small nicks to the wood, and a small dark inclusion on the left side of the body. There is fine crazing and minor age-related cracking present in the white paint on the neck and breast. The structural integrity remains sound.
