Description
This lot features a wall-mounted ceramic salt box and a companion small bowl, both decorated with underglaze blue hand-painted floral and foliate motifs in the Blue Onion pattern. The salt box includes a cylindrical glazed ceramic canister with a flared base, which is attached to a dark-stained wooden backplate. The wooden plate is designed with a trefoil-shaped cutout for wall hanging and is equipped with a hinged wooden lid. The matching bowl is constructed with a flared, scalloped rim and a raised foot ring. The base of the bowl features a faint blue underglaze mark consisting of two crossed diagonal lines (photo 2). This mark is not legible as a maker name. No maker marks are visible on the ceramic salt box.

Condition report:
The ceramic canister of the salt box shows no visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photos 1, 3, 5). The wooden backplate and lid display minor surface scuffing and wear consistent with age and typical use (photo 4). The metal hinge is functional. The small bowl is in excellent overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photos 1, 2). Minor inherent firing irregularities and glaze pinholes are present on the foot and underside of the bowl (photo 2).
