Lot 114:
Description
A vintage electric boudoir lamp featuring a six-paneled leaded slag glass shade in a lavender-blue color with a scalloped lower rim. The shade is supported by a brass-finished metal base with a central stem and a clear glass fount decorated with white opalescent coin spots. The lighting fixture includes a metal socket with a push-through switch and a white plastic-coated electrical cord. The socket shell is stamped with characters reading 250W 250V; additional markings are present on the socket but are not legible. No other maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the exterior or base of the lamp.
Overall height: 11.25 inches
Shade width: 7 inches
Base footprint: 3.25 inches square.
Condition report:
The brass-finished metal base exhibits significant surface tarnish, natural patina, and scattered spots of green oxidation, particularly around the foot (photo 1). The leaded cames of the shade show age-related oxidation and a dull finish (photo 1). The lavender slag glass panels and the opalescent glass fount appear intact with no visible cracks, chips, or repairs (photo 1). The white electrical cord is tangled and shows minor surface soiling (photo 2). The lamp is sold as untested and professional rewiring is recommended for all vintage lighting.
