Description
A framed landscape watercolor on paper featuring a small cottage with a chimney perched on a grassy embankment. A winding dirt road bordered by a post-and-rail fence leads toward the dwelling, overlooking a calm body of water with distant mountains under a pale, yellowish sky. The work is executed in a representational folk-art style. The lower right corner is inscribed in black ink with the title Haunted in quotation marks, followed by an illegible signature or set of initials. The painting is housed in a deep-profile, multi-stepped wooden frame with dark brown and black finishes and a gilded inner fillet.

Condition report:
The paper substrate shows significant overall age-related toning. Several dark spots, likely foxing or flyspecks, are visible in the upper-right sky area and concentrated around the cottage (photo 1). The frame exhibits minor surface scuffs and wear along the outer edges (photo 1).
