Sterling Silver, Antique Flintlock Shotgun, Collectibles Estate Sale Auction
Lot 141:
Description
A rectangular wall mirror featuring a deep, multi-stepped wooden frame with a dark brown stained finish. The frame displays a cove-moulded profile characteristic of the late 19th to early 20th century. The mirror plate shows significant overall darkening and clouding of the silvering, suggesting it is the original glass. The item is displayed on a wooden stand for photography purposes; the stand is not included in the lot. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the front or sides of the frame.
Width across the widest point of the frame measures approximately 14.75 inches, and height is approximately 12.5 inches.
Condition report:
The wooden frame exhibits minor surface wear, including light scuffs, scratches, and small losses to the finish, most notably along the outer edges and corners (photo 1). The mirror plate is very dark and clouded throughout, with visible surface dust, minor scratches, and small spots of silvering loss (photo 2).
