Description
This classic American office chair is a banker style swivel armchair constructed from solid oak with a medium brown finish. The chair features a high backrest with seven vertical slats and curved armrests supported by vertical posts. The seat is solid wood and contoured for comfort, accompanied by a removable brown vinyl button-tufted seat cushion. The chair is mounted on a heavy-duty cast-iron swivel and tilt mechanism equipped with an adjustable tension knob underneath the seat. The base consists of four curved oak legs terminating in metal-housed casters. No maker marks, labels, or patent dates are visible on the wood surfaces or the mechanical components.
Condition report:
The chair is in good vintage condition showing signs of age and office use. General surface wear and minor scuffs are visible across the wood finish, with notable finish loss and rubbing on the edges of the armrests and the front of the seat (photo 1). The mechanical swivel and tilt base appears to be intact and functional (photo 1). The removable vinyl cushion is free of visible tears or major defects (photo 2). The casters and their metal housings show typical oxidation and wear consistent with age (photo 3).
