Description
A quartersawn oak writing desk in the Chippendale revival style. The piece is constructed from solid oak with prominent medullary rays, often referred to as tiger oak. It features a rectangular top composed of two parallel planks with beveled edges. A single full-width frieze drawer is centered at the front and is fitted with two circular brass pull knobs. The desk is supported by four cabriole legs, each featuring a carved acanthus leaf motif at the knee and terminating in ball-and-claw feet. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces or within the provided images.

Condition report:
The piece exhibits wear consistent with age and use. The top surface shows numerous scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish fading (Photo 1, 3). There is visible finish wear and minor scuffing on the legs and carved feet (Photo 1). The beveled edges of the top show minor indentations (Photo 3). The drawer appears to be in functional condition with no visible structural damage.
