Description
A Japanese porcelain dinnerware service featuring a wide maroon border decorated with gold-tone filigree and floral scrollwork. The gilded accents extend to the rims of all pieces and the handles of the serving items. The set comprises dinner plates, salad plates, bread and butter plates, fruit bowls, teacups, saucers, an oval platter, a round serving bowl, a covered sugar bowl, and a creamer. On the base of the oval platter is a brown printed mark featuring the name Noritake in script above an N within a laurel wreath, followed by a registered trademark symbol, the word JAPAN, the pattern number 6525, and the pattern name GOLDMERE enclosed in a decorative banner. This mark confirms the set as the Goldmere pattern by Noritake.
Condition report:
Based on the provided images, the porcelain set appears to be in very good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photo 1). The gold gilding on the rims, handles, and decorative borders remains bright and intact with no significant areas of wear or loss visible (photo 3). The white porcelain surfaces show no evidence of heavy utensil marking or staining.
