Description
A collection of various vinyl records comprising approximately 12-inch LP albums and 7-inch 45 RPM singles. The lot includes a diverse range of artists and genres. Legible titles and artists on the cardboard jackets include Paul Simon Greatest Hits, Etc. bearing a Columbia label; Lawrence of Arabia Original Soundtrack Recording on a red and white printed label for Colpix Records SCP 514; Grease The Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture featuring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John on an RSO Records label; and The Shirelles Greatest Hits on a green and black printed label for Scepter Records 507. Other notable albums include I Love You 1,000 Times by The Shirelles on a Musicor Records label; Donovan’s Greatest Hits; and multiple releases by Paul Williams including A Little on the Windy Side. The collection also features easy listening and jazz titles such as Easy Beat by The Bobby Hackett Quartet on a Capitol Records label; Night Love by Bobby Hackett on a Columbia label; and Music for Lovers Only and Lonesome Echo by Jackie Gleason. The 45 RPM singles include titles in original picture and generic paper sleeves such as The Wild Boys by Duran Duran; I Feel For You by Chaka Khan; and Do They Know It’s Christmas? by Band Aid. Additional singles by Don Henley and New Edition are also present. One yellow plastic 45 RPM record adapter is included in the lot.
Condition report:
The collection shows visible signs of age and significant handling wear throughout. Cardboard jackets exhibit prominent ring wear and edge scuffing (photo 1, photo 5). Multiple covers have creased, dog-eared, or blunted corners (photo 2, photo 6). Edge splits and small tears are visible on several LP jackets (photo 1, photo 4). The 45 RPM paper sleeves show heavy creasing, staining, and yellowing consistent with age (photo 3). Some labels on the vinyl discs show minor spindle wear and surface dust (photo 3). General condition of the outer packaging ranges from fair to good.
