Description
A woven bamboo storage basket of rectangular form featuring a hinged lid and a fixed, dual-overlaid handle. The structure is composed of natural finish bamboo splints in various widths, assembled with pinned joinery. It is equipped with two metal hinges at the rear and a decorative toggle-style latch on the front. The interior consists of the exposed woven bamboo splints without a lining. The underside of the base features faint, illegible characters applied in ink on a single slat. A and N letters possibly. It is also considered as a handbag.
Measured from the provided ruler, the basket is approximately 6.75 inches in length. The body stands roughly 4.25 inches high, with a total height of approximately 6.25 inches to the top of the handle.
Condition report:
The basket is in fair to good condition. There is visible oxidation and verdigris on the metal hardware. Minor fraying and small breaks to the bamboo splints are present at the corners. One slat on the bottom surface is partially detached or broken.
