Description
A pair of professionally mounted entomological specimens presented in double-sided wooden shadow box frames. The specimens are float-mounted between two panes of glass, allowing for viewing of both the dorsal and ventral sides. The frames are constructed from a light-toned hardwood with a natural finish. Each frame features a metal sawtooth hanger on the reverse for wall mounting and a typewritten identification label affixed to the interior bottom.
Frame 1 (Vertical): Contains two Madagascan Sunset Moths (Urania ripheus). The wings display iridescent multicolored bands in shades of green, orange, and black with white-fringed tails. The interior label reads: 4022 Urania ripheus Madagascar.
Frame 2 (Horizontal): Contains one Peacock Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio blumei). The specimen features large dark wings with vibrant iridescent emerald-green bands and distinct blue tails. The interior label reads: 3051 Papilio blumei Indonesia.
Vertical Frame: 8.5 inches (H) x 6.25 inches (W) x 1.75 inches (D)
Horizontal Frame: 7.25 inches (H) x 8.25 inches (W) x 1.75 inches (D).
Condition report:
The specimens are in excellent condition, displaying vibrant coloration and intact wing structures with no visible tears or loss. The wooden frames are structurally sound with minimal signs of handling. The glass is clear and free of chips or cracks.
