Description
A hand-carved and painted wooden duck decoy by Patrick Vincenti, depicting a Red-breasted hen Merganser. The decoy is constructed with a distinctive carved crest and a long, tapered yellow bill with a black tip. The head is finished in a reddish-brown paint and features small red inset eyes. The body is decorated with gray, white, and brown paint, including fine white lines to denote wing feathers. The underside is equipped with a lead keel weight and a metal screw-eye for line attachment. The base is signed in black ink with the handwritten signature Patrick Vincenti and dated 1986.
Approximately 17.5 inches in total length.
Condition report:
Very good condition with original paint. The item exhibits minor surface scuffs and light dust accumulation consistent with age and handling. There are no visible chips, cracks, or structural repairs.
