Description
Two rectangular picture frames in contrasting decorative styles. The smaller frame features elaborate Rococo-inspired scrolling acanthus leaf and shell rocaille ornamentation at the corners and centers, constructed of molded composition with a gold-toned gilded finish. The larger frame exhibits a traditional profile with repetitive foliate borders and a mottled, antiqued gold and bronze finish. No maker marks or labels are visible on the forward-facing surfaces.
Larger frame height: 30 inches
Smaller frame height: 25 inches.
Condition report:
The Rococo-style frame shows noticeable losses and chipping to the molded decoration and gilding, particularly at the lower corners and along the inner edge. Both frames exhibit accumulated dust and minor surface abrasions consistent with age and use.
