Description
A large machine-woven area rug featuring an all-over floral and foliate design on a deep red field. The central pattern is composed of repeating palmettes and scrolling vine-work in navy blue, light blue, gold, and ivory tones. It is enclosed by a complex multi-layered border, including a wide primary band with large-scale scrolling motifs and several narrow guard borders. The rug is finished with a cream-colored fringe on two ends. The machine-woven construction is evident on the reverse side where the pattern remains clearly visible.

Condition report:
Visible sun fading is present in one corner, where the red ground and pattern colors appear lighter and more washed out compared to the rest of the piece (photo 4). The cream fringe shows light tangling and wear consistent with age and use (photo 2). Indentations from furniture legs are present in the pile from the dining table currently resting on it (photo 1). No significant stains, odors, or structural repairs are noted.
