Description

US Morgan Silver Dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1894. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper with a 0.900 fineness. The obverse features the Liberty Head design and the reverse features the heraldic eagle design. A small S mint mark is positioned on the reverse below the wreath and above the denomination. The edge is reeded. The 1894-S is a lower mintage issue in the Morgan dollar series with 1,260,000 coins struck.


Condition report:

Good. The coin shows heavy wear on the high points of the obverse and reverse. Notable damage includes several prominent scratches across the face and eye area of the obverse profile. The surfaces exhibit a dull, matte grey patina with no remaining mint luster.
