Description
A pair of US Mint clad proof sets, dated 1979 and 1987, struck at the San Francisco Mint. The 1979 set is a six-coin Type 1 issue containing the Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter, Kennedy half dollar, and Susan B. Anthony dollar. It is presented in the original black plastic holder with a red insert. The 1987 set is a five-coin issue containing the Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter, and Kennedy half dollar, presented in the original clear plastic case with a purple insert. All coins are proof strikings with mirror-like fields and frosted cameo devices, each bearing the S mint mark. The 1987 set represents a period of lower mintage for US proof sets.
Condition report:
Coins are in uncirculated proof condition with sharp details and cameo contrast. The 1987 Kennedy half dollar exhibits light blue peripheral toning. Both sets remain in original government packaging; cases show minor shelf wear.
