Description
A pair of 1972 US Eisenhower dollars featuring aftermarket gold plating. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the coins lack a mint mark. The pieces display the Eisenhower profile obverse and the eagle on lunar surface reverse design types. Visible obverse inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date 1972. Reverse inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR. Both coins are secured in black square mounts with gold foil-stamped lettering reading SUN BANK and DOLLAR. These sets were produced as promotional items for the identified financial institution.
