Description
A glazed earthenware cookie jar by ceramic artist Glenn Appleman, modeled as a stylized vintage yellow taxi cab. The piece is finished in a vibrant yellow glaze with hand-painted and decal details, including Sids RADIO TAXI and YAZOO 2-2222 on the doors. Whimsical elements include I LIKE IKE bumper stickers and a NIGHT OWL SERVICE owl logo. The front grille, bumpers, and hubcaps are finished in a reflective metallic silver-tone glaze. The upper portion of the car cabin is removable to serve as a lid. The base is hand-signed Apple 1978 alongside a stylized apple drawing. The underside of the lid is incised S 207. The lot includes the original gold foil hangtag.

Condition report:
Very good vintage condition. Minor surface rubbing and light wear to the metallic silver-tone glaze on the bumpers and grille consistent with age. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible. The original hangtag shows light creasing.
