Description
An antique pedestal-style table lamp, originally a kerosene oil lamp that has been converted for electrical use. The silver-toned metal body, likely nickel-plated, features a font and base decorated with embossed foliate and floral relief patterns. The font is embossed with the readable uppercase text THE GLADSTONE. The lamp is topped with a white milk glass shade featuring a hobnail texture and a ruffled, crimped upper rim, accompanied by a clear glass chimney. The original burner assembly has been modified to house a standard screw-in light socket, currently containing a spiral compact fluorescent bulb. The piece is equipped with a brown plastic-coated electrical cord, a two-prong plug, and a push-button power switch integrated into the circular base.

Condition report:
The metal body shows significant surface oxidation, tarnishing, and pitting throughout the font, stem, and base (photo 1). The silver-toned plating is worn through to the base metal in several areas (photo 2). The three metal support arms for the shade are bent and misshapen (photo 3). The white milk glass shade and clear glass chimney appear to be in good condition with no visible cracks or large chips (photo 3). The electrical cord and plug show typical age-related wear but remain intact (photo 4). As with all vintage electronics, the lamp should be inspected by a professional before use.
