Lot 117:
Description
A pair of table lamps featuring ceramic or composite urn-form bases decorated with a tan faux-bois wood grain finish and accented by thin black vertical pinstriping. Each base is supported by a tiered square black plinth. The lamps are fitted with brass-tone metal necks and large black conical paper shades. Each shade is secured with a red molded resin finial depicting a seated Hotei, also known as the Laughing Buddha. The lamps are equipped with brown electrical cords and polarized two-prong plugs. No maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the lamp bases or hardware.
Overall height: 28.5 inches to the top of the finial
Shade height: 26.5 inches to the top rim
Base width: 6.75 inches square.
Condition report:
The lamps appear in excellent vintage condition. The black paper shades show visible surface dust and minor lint (photo 1, 3). The faux-bois finish on the bases remains well-preserved with only very minor surface scuffing consistent with age (photo 1). The electrical cords and plugs appear in good condition; however, the lamps have not been tested for electrical functionality.
