Description
A large rectangular wall mirror in the Rococo Revival style featuring an ornate frame with deep-profile composition molding over a wood base. The frame is finished in a gold-tone gilding and embellished with scrolling acanthus leaves, foliate scrolls, and shell motifs at the corners and midpoints of each rail. The central rectangular mirror plate features a wide beveled edge. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the front of the frame.

Condition report:
The frame exhibits a significant area of loss to the gilded composition molding along the bottom center edge, approximately 4 inches long, exposing the white gesso base (photo 3). Scattered minor chips and fine crazing are present throughout the gilded finish (photo 1). The mirror glass is in good condition with minor surface dust and light foxing (photo 1).
