Description
A rectangular wall mirror featuring an ornate frame of gilded composition over wood. The design includes a wide outer border with repeating foliate scrollwork and raised circular medallions. A deep, plain cove molding leads to a secondary inner border decorated with repeating foliate motifs. The central mirror plate is rectangular and features wide beveled edges. The reverse side consists of a wooden support structure and a horizontal wire hanger. No maker mark, signature, or label is visible on the frame or the backing.

Condition report:
The mirror plate exhibits significant foxing and dark spotting resulting from silvering loss, primarily concentrated in the center and along the edges (photo 1). The frame has a prominent vertical crack through the ornate molding in the upper right corner (photo 1). General wear and light rubbing to the gilded finish are visible throughout the frame. The brown paper backing on the reverse is brittle, heavily torn, and partially missing (photo 3).
