Description
An oil painting on board by the artist A. Sol, depicting a coastal seascape featuring a single breaking wave under a hazy sunset sky. The work is executed in a realist style using a palette of peach and ochre in the sky, which reflects onto the translucent mint-green water and white cresting foam. The painting is signed in the lower-left corner in dark paint, reading a. Sol. The artwork is housed in a deep, ornate gilt composition frame characterized by a wide scrolling foliate outer border, a recessed black-painted wooden band, and a textured gilt inner liner. Based on the ruler visible in the second image, the dimensions were taken across the widest point.

Condition report:
The painted surface appears to be in overall good condition with no visible signs of paint loss, significant craquelure, or restoration (photo 1). The ornate frame shows minor age-related wear, including several small cracks in the composition and scattered small losses to the gilt finish, particularly at the outer corners and edges (photo 1).
