Description
A collection of approximately 30 pieces of cobalt blue glassware featuring a variety of forms and decorative techniques. The set includes a large lobed serving platter designed with two integrated scroll-style handles. The dinnerware consists of approximately seven dinner plates and nine smaller salad or bread plates, all featuring plain, polished rims. The stemware includes five footed glasses characterized by distinctive multi-knop or beaded stems, consisting of two larger and three slightly smaller sizes. The assortment of tumblers includes two plain cylindrical drinking glasses, two smaller squat juice glasses, and two tall glasses featuring wheel-cut geometric patterns composed of diamond cuts, vertical blazes, and fan motifs. The set also includes one pair of molded glass salt and pepper shakers with a textured geometric surface and silver-toned metallic screw-on caps. No maker marks, signatures, backstamps, or labels are visible on any of the pieces in this collection.
Condition report:
A prominent linear mark is visible near the center of the large handled platter, which may be a deep scratch or a hairline fracture (photo 1). The surfaces of the stacked dinner and salad plates show light scratching consistent with age and stacking wear (photo 1). The metal caps on the salt and pepper shakers exhibit minor signs of oxidation and tarnishing (photo 1). The glassware maintains consistent deep color saturation and clarity.
