Description

An assortment of eleven pieces of clear and cut glass, primarily in the American Brilliant Period style. The collection includes a footed centerpiece bowl with a plain circular rim and a heavy cut glass base featuring deep miter cuts forming fan and geometric wedge patterns on three feet. There is a set of five tall, slender cordial or liqueur glasses, each featuring a weighted base with light radial miter cutting, presented on a rectangular tray with a scalloped serrated toothed rim and a sunburst pattern on the underside. A large circular bowl exhibits complex geometric cutting in the American Brilliant Period style, featuring central hobstars, miter-cut fans, and strawberry diamond accents under a deeply toothed rim. The lot also contains a cylindrical jar, possibly for preserves, featuring geometric miter cuts and a starburst on the base, complete with a matching patterned lid and a small glass finial. A shallow round cut glass dish features a central starburst and radial miter cutting. Completing the collection is a dumbbell shaped faceted and cut glass knife rest with star-cut ends. No maker marks, signatures, or acid-etched stamps are visible on any of the pieces. The glass exhibits high clarity and sharp edges characteristic of lead crystal from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.

Condition report:

The collection is in good vintage condition overall. Minor flea-bite nicks are visible on the sharp serrated edges of the large bowl (photo 1) and the rectangular tray (photo 2), which is typical for glass of this age and style. The plain rim of the centerpiece bowl appears free of significant chips or cracks. The lidded jar and knife rest show no obvious damage to the facets or patterns (photo 1). No evidence of permanent glass sickness or internal cloudiness is observed in any of the pieces.
